Vertigo is a medical condition where a person feels as if they or the objects around them are moving when they are not. Vertigo is the most common type of dizziness. Often it feels like a spinning or swaying movement. This may be associated with nausea, vomiting, sweating, or difficulties walking. The duration of symptoms can be from minutes to hours, and symptoms can be constant (chronic) or episodic. The onset may be due to a movement or change in position.

Causes of vertigo may include:

• Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) – where certain head movements trigger vertigo Migraines – Severe headaches
• Labyrinthitis – An inner ear infection
• Vestibular Neuronitis – Inflammation of the vestibular nerve, which runs into the inner ear and sends messages to the brain that help to control balance.

Depending on the condition causing vertigo, additional symptoms, such as a high temperature, ringing in ears (tinnitus) and hearing loss may appear.

Indication:

Vertigo & dizziness with nausea & vomiting.

Actions of ingredients:

• Argentum nitricum: Vertigo with weakness of limbs and trembling and nausea.
• Cocculus indicus: Vertigo, as if intoxicated upon rising in bed; or by motion of the carriage.
• Conium maculatum: Vertigo and pressure in the head with unaltered pulse.
• Gelsemium sempervirens: Vertigo as if intoxicated, with headache and blindness, and great drowsiness.
