Spine related problems are increasing day by day due to prolonged sitting job, lack of exercise, wrong posture, etc. Its occurrence is linked with lifestyle, age and gene. Common problems that occur in the spine and back regions include cervical spondylitis, lumber spondylitis, general lower back pain or lumbago, stiff neck, etc. Spondylitis is a general term for inflammation of vertebrae. If inflammation is in more than one vertebral joint, it is known as spondylarthritis. This inflammation could be spondylitis of the neck (cervical spondylitis) or the lower back (lumber spondylitis). Ankylosing spondylitis is an auntoimmune disorder of genetic origin which primarily affects the spine. Spondylosis, another condition of spine, is a degenerative disorder. Sciatica is a condition with pain originated from the spine and radiating down the back of the leg due to compression on sciatic nerve resulting from injury, herniated disc, bone spur, etc.

Pain in spine & surrounding regions can be with or without pathological changes. Such pathological changes may include degeneration of vertebrae, overgrowth of bone, disc herniation and bulging discs. These changes cause pressure in the spinal nerves which further lead to inflammation and pain. At times muscle stiffness, soreness, injury may also lead to pain in the spine & surrounding region.

The therapeutic components of Rϋck-Pain™ are established homoeopathic remedies covered by authoritative literature and official pharmacopoeia(s). They complement each other in the treatment of cervical spondylitis, lumber spondylitis, spondylarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, spondylosis, sciatica, general lower back pain or lumbago and stiff neck. This formulation is developed to cover wider areas of therapeutic action like joint, serous membrane, nerves, muscles, bones, neck, lumbar, pain and sleep with which above conditions are associated.

The ingredients of Rϋck-Pain™ are indicated in numerous characteristics as well as peculiar symptoms of spine and surrounding region of back. Such characteristics symptoms include acute articular rheumatism and lumbago; complaints from injury; rheumatism of muscular and tendinous tissue especially of back and shoulders; torticollis (twisted neck due to contraction/stiffness on one side); pulling and drawing pains in the shoulder-blades, worse from dry and cold winds; neuritis with tingling; consequences of spinal concussion; cervical vertebrae very sensitive to touch; pain and stiffness in back and neck; tearing pains in tendons and ligaments with irresistible desire to move or change the position; pains are worse from exertion, after fatigue, from getting wet and cold; pain from back down hips and thighs and pain in back from a fall.

Proven indications of the individual ingredients in the sphere of claimed action:

Acetanilidum: It is used in lower potency to relieve neuralgic pain. It has been reported to be useful in acute articular rheumatism and lumbago.
Arnica montana: It is especially suited to cases when any injury, however remote, seems to have caused the present trouble. Rheumatism of muscular and tendinous tissue, especially of back and shoulders. It is known as a muscular tonic. Weakness of the muscles of the neck. Pains, as from a bruise, and of dislocation in the back.

Causticum: Stiffness between shoulders. Dull pain in nape of neck. Pain, as from a bruise in the nape of the neck. Pulling and acute drawing pains in the shoulder-blades. Restlessness at night, with tearing pains in joints and bones, and faint-like sinking of strength. Pains are worse from dry and cold winds, in clear fine weather and better in damp, wet weather and warmth of bed.

Eschscholtzia californica: It is used to relieve pain and acts as tranquilizer. It is mildly antispasmodic, sedative and analgesic. Studies have observed its anxiolytic actions.

Hypericum perfoliatum: It is one of the leading remedies for neuralgic pain. Darting pain in shoulders. Lancinating pain in upper and lower limbs. Neuritis, with tingling, burning pain, numbness and flossy skin.  Traumatic neuralgia and neuritis. Cervical vertebrae very sensitive to touch. Backache after delivery. It is indicated in consequences of spinal concussion.

Lachnanthes tinctoria: Pain and stiffness in back and neck. Pain in nape, as if dislocated. A remedy for torticollis, rheumatic symptoms about neck. Right side of neck stiff, head drawn to right. Pain in neck on bending head backward.

Rhus toxicodendron: Indicated for tearing pains in tendons and ligaments with irresistible desire to move or change the position, followed by relief for a short time; when they move again the same relief follows, which is for a short time.  Symptoms are worse from exertion, after fatigue, from getting wet and cold.

Ruta graveolens: Spine and limbs feel bruised. Pain and stiffness in wrists and hands. Sciatica; worse, lying down at night; pain from back down hips and thighs. Pain in lumbar vertebrae as if bruised. Backache better by lying on back.
Symphytum officinale: It is considered as the orthopedic specific remedy which helps in reunion of fractured bone. Pain in back from a fall. Neuralgia of knee. It is indicated in caries of spinal and other bones.

Dosage: Unless otherwise prescribed by the physician, in acute episodes of pains (as SOS) 10-20 drops every hour which should be gradually reduced to 10-20 drops 2-3 times a day. In chronic cases, the therapy should be continued for a prolonged period of time. If complaints are not relieved, consult a specialist.
