Indigofera Tinctoria commonly known as natural dye has been used for ages as a natural dyeing agent.

Even today after introduction of synthetic dyes it is still marketed and sold as a natural dyeing agent.

True indigo is a small shrub with a maximum height of around 2 meters.

True indigo is a shrub one to two meters high. It may be an annual, biennial, or perennial, depending on the climate in which it is grown. It has light green pinnate leaves and sheafs of pink or violet flowers.
