Gynostemma pentaphyllum popularly known as Jiaogulan or "herb of immortality" is a very widely used vegetable plant or herb with its origins in China.
It is well known for its revitalizing and body rejuvenation properties. Gynostemma pentaphyllum contains  almost all ingredients as that of ginseng root and its popularity is also due to the easiness with which it can be cultivated.
It can be grown inside as a potted plant or climber for balconies , it loves the heat and seeds can germinated at temperatures of around 22 degrees centigrade.
