Gokshura (Tribulis terrestris)

Gokshura (Tribulis terrestris) is known as Caltrops, Puncture vine, Goats head and Chota-Gokhru.

It is a trailing thorny weed common in sandy soil throughout India. It mainly works on nervous, reproductive, urinary system and respiratory system. It has analgesic, diuretic, lithotriptic, nervine, rejuvenative, tonic and aphrodisiac activities.

Gokhru is best herb for genitourinary conditions including difficult or painful urination, stones, bloody or burning urine, etc.

Gokhru detoxifies body. It clears and scrapes obstructions from the tissues.

Shatavar is a scandent, much-branched, spinous under-shrub with tuberous roots. It is found throughout the tropical and subtropical regions, particularly central India. It is also found up to an altitude of 1500 m in subtropical Himalayas. It is a tonic and a geriatric. It has diuretic, nutritive, tonic, appetizer, and alterative action. Shatavar is useful in diseases of blood, kidney, liver, scalding urine, rheumatism, gleet, and gonorrhea.

Varuna or Crataeva nurvala Buch-Ham (Capparidaceae)

Varuna or Crataeva nurvala Buch-Ham (Capparidaceae), is a moderate size evergreen tree distributed through-out India from the Himalayas down to Southern states. It has laxative, expectorant, antipyretic, antihelminthic, anti-inflammatory, diuretic, demulcent, stomachic, carminative properties and it is used traditionally in treatment of skin diseases, bronchitis, asthma, blood diseases and disorders of urinary tract.

Safed Chandan

Safed Chandan is the dried heart wood of Santalum album Linn. (family Santalaceae). It is an evergreen, semi parasitic tree, 8 to 18 m in height and 2 to 4 m in girth, widely distributed in the country, commonly found in the dry regions of peninsular India from Vindhya mountains southwards, especially in Karnataka and Tamilnadu. Chandan is used in folk medicine

for treatment of common colds, bronchitis, skin disorders, heart ailments, general weakness, fever, inflammation of the mouth and pharynx, liver and gallbladder complaints and infection of the urinary tract. It has cooling and soothing effects on body.

Karanju (Caesalpinia bonducella)

Karanju (Caesalpinia bonducella) Bonduc nut, is a scandent, prickly shrub. For medicinal purpose, the seeds of tree are used. Linoleic acid, oleic acid, palmitic acid, stearic acid are the chief constituent of the seeds. It is a tonic medicine and useful in most types of fever.

Uses of Baidyanath Prostaid Tablets

This medicine is indicated in treatment of prostatic hypertrophy or benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and it’s allied complaints (Burning urination, UTI, retention of urine). BPH is non-malignant enlargement of prostate gland.
